Graffiti Dreamers' Base

The flourishing street culture of graffiti in Ximending has been honored as one of the top 5 street art cities by international media. This year, graffiti artists from all over the world are invited to create interesting tent designs and transform the gallery into a brand new space.

Guitar Zhu Bao

The leading character of the 2019 Taipei Lantern Festival, Zhu Bao, presents itself in a physical form of music. Zhu Bao turns into a guitar, with the area in front of him as a stage for street artist performances.

C2 Squad

The “C2 Squad – Water Tower Project” aims to record the unconventional youth culture of contemporary Taiwan. The artworks were transformed from water tanks commonly seen on Taiwanese rooftop into a graffiti-covered speaker that plays hip hop music. Through the audio and visual stimulations, the subculture energy is dialed up to its full volume.

Music-Loving Tofu

Tofu is a music-lover who sits on the piano to welcome everyone to perform on stage; through the interactive design, Tofu will change colors based on the music!

Light Up! Wan Sheng Village

This is a new attempt which allows students to visit the elders in Wan Sheng Village and then present their experiences of community outreach services with story light boxes. Students tell stories about the local people with their own perspectives and bring young blood to the old stories!

Swing Beimen

North Gate (Beimen), officially named Cheng’en Gate, was once the official gate of Taipei City during the Qing dynasty, which is also the only completely preserved gate of the five gates. This is the first time that Beimen presents a four sided 3D projection mapping show, the light sculpture will fully integrate with the old city gate and its form through music, Swing Dance, light projection and live performance by actors, bringing the city’s history to life.

Express Taipei

With the concept of “Express Love Letter”, the Taipei Post Office, which was built during the Japanese rule, projects a variety of postmarks. Take this opportunity to pick up a piece of paper and a pen and write a letter to your beloved!

Fire-Breathing Stir-Fry

In the early days, the number of signages represented the prosperity of an area; Ximending was once a classic gathering place for bulb signages. The signature bulb signage exhibited this year changes colors with the music and perfectly recreates the old-time Ximen.

Planting Light: Flowers

The light spots are scattered all over in the form of plants, with a natural rhythm that breathes and sways in the wind. We plant light in the environment, breeding flowers which have heartbeats and await their growth in the future.

The Young Heart of an Old Warehouse

The Mitsui Warehouse, a centennial building built during the Japanese rule, is full of Japanese atmosphere. The 3D projection mapping presents the painting of the singer Ciacia Her’s 6-year-old daughter, expressing the contrast between the old warehouse and the childlike innocence.

Akididi

A band of six robot members that mashes up technological lighting and electronic music. Akididi will perform a spectacular sound and light show every 15 minutes.

Infinity Dream

According to the slogan of this year’s Lantern Festival, “Light Up Dreams and Light Up Hearts”, the infinite symbol of this artwork wishes all visitors not to limit their dreams because of their age, and to seize the opportunity to find their dreams and make them come true!

學生創作區

Students from different schools in Taiwan are invited to participate in lantern making. With the themes of “Eat in Taipei”, “The Unseen Taipei”, “May Everything Goes As Wished” and “Welcome the New Year”, students have shown their purest and most creative ideas.
